Development (Synopsis of the development of the atomic bomb)
-
Uranium was discovered in 1789 by Martin Klaproth. Ionizing radiation was discovered by Wilhelm Rontgen in 1895. In 1896, Henri Becquerel observed a reaction caused by alpha and beta radiation, and discovered gamma radiation. This reaction was named “radioactivity” by Pierre and Marie Curie in 1896. Since then, the study of radiation has taken off. These four sources will help you research the development of nuclear science!
